Arlin Radhames Troncoso, 43, and Wanfel Salvador Aristy Alcantara, 28, both of Chicopee, were arrested earlier this week following a raid at two homes — 80 Pine St. and 33 Southwick St., State Police said.

Officers began investigating the duo in January when they were alerted to a fentanyl operation in Chicopee and in other areas of Hampden County.

Police searched 80 Pine Street and found more than two pounds of cocaine and 256 raw grams of fentanyl, authorities said.

They found a "fentanyl mill," which included materials used to process and mix pure fentanyl and cutting agents. Once the fentanyl has been "cut," where substances are added to dilute and extend the amount of the drug, it was sent to street-level dealers, authorities said.

Police also found a sophisticated mechanical system built into one of their cars, where they had hidden several bundles of heroin and small baggies containing cocaine, troopers said.

Troncoso and Alcantara were charged with trafficking heroin or fentanyl over 200 grams and trafficking cocaine over 200 grams.

Police also learned during their investigation that Troncoso is wanted in a 2022 killing in the Dominican Republic.
